Located in an unspoilt Georgian house within Cockermouth, a wonderful Cumbrian Georgian town on the western edge of the Lake District, Castlegate House Gallery specialise in internationally renowned artists such as Leon Kossoff, Sheila Fell, Percy Kelly, Frank Auerbach, Grayson Perry, Mary Fedden, Winifred Nicholson, and Norman Cornish, amongst many others. They aim to bring to the gallery exciting up and coming young talented artists including William Reinsch, Jess Pigott, Louis Appleby, Alex Hain and Alice Campbell.
The gallery also hasa passion for British ceramics, and as well as early Leach and Winchcombe examples they bring to the Gallery some of the best Studio Pottery in the UK, including the likes of William Plumptre, Jim Malone and Edward Hughes
