Describe your business?
I specialise in mid- late 20th Century British and Contemporary Art from my gallery just outside Hook in Hampshire.
How much do you enjoy art fairs?
I love art fairs, they give me a chance to get to meet other dealers and gallery owners and also a chance to meet new collectors, the only downside is that it takes me a week to recover!
Is this what you wanted to be when you grew up?
Yes! I started working at Philips Auctioneers in the 1980’s and never really wanted to do anything other than surround myself with 20th Century British Art.
Your favourite artwork is?
My favourite artwork is ‘The Kite Flier’, 1916 by Harold Harvey, which I grew up with as my Great Grandfather was a collector. I believe he bought it directly from Harold Harvey, he had a lot of Newlyns School paintings, it was sold by parents in the 1980’s and I’m not sure where it is now.
Most treasured – your MBE or your Blue Peter badge?
Tricky one, I am sentimentally attached to my Blue Peter Badge but felt honoured to have been awarded my MBE and was particularly thrilled to receive it from the Queen herself in her 90th Birthday honours list.
